The URL is: http://lab.bootstrap.org/port/index.html On the site is a paper summarizing the process I have proposed for reviewing papers: http://lab.bootstrap.org/port/peerreviewprocess.html In a nutshell, the process consists of: 1. Converting submitted papers into HTML with "purple numbers." For an explanation and example of this, see the URL above. 2. Discussing the papers on this mailing list (port-peer-review@bootstrap.org), using the links to purple numbers to refer to specific paragraphs in the papers. 3. Dialog mapping the discussion daily, with links to the discussion. The paper describes Dialog Mapping in more detail. I figure the best way to explain how all of this will work is to show it in action. Start with the paper I refer to above. Read it, and send questions or comments to this mailing list. Thanks! -Eugene -- +=== Eugene Eric Kim ===== eekim@eekim.com ===== http://www.eekim.com/ ===+ | "Writer's block is a fancy term made up by whiners so they | +===== can have an excuse to drink alcohol." --Steve Martin ===========+ From owner-port-peer-review@bootstrap.org Tue Apr 30 10:48:50 2002 Return-Path: Delivered-To: port-peer-review-list@bi0.bootstrap.org Received: by bi0.bootstrap.org (Postfix, from userid 2001) id 82A5356FD5; Tue, 30 Apr 2002 10:48:50 -0700 (PDT) Delivered-To: port-peer-review@bootstrap.org Received: from mta5.rcsntx.swbell.net (mta5.rcsntx.swbell.net [151.164.30.29]) by bi0.bootstrap.org (Postfix) with SMTP id 3417856FCE for ; Tue, 30 Apr 2002 10:48:49 -0700 (PDT) Received: from hugh ([63.201.89.7]) by mta5.rcsntx.swbell.net (iPlanet Messaging Server 5.1 (built May 7 2001)) with ESMTP id <0GVE00IFU7JTS9@mta5.rcsntx.swbell.net> for port-peer-review@bootstrap.org; Tue, 30 Apr 2002 13:04:42 -0500 (CDT) Date: Tue, 30 Apr 2002 11:06:46 -0700 (PDT) From: Eugene Eric Kim Subject: [port-peer-review] first Dialog Map posted X-X-Sender: eekim@hugh.burdenslanding.org To: port-peer-review@bootstrap.org Message-id: MIME-version: 1.0 Content-type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT Sender: owner-port-peer-review@bootstrap.org Precedence: bulk Reply-To: port-peer-review@bootstrap.org I posted an initial Dialog Map of the discussion on this list (i.e. my introductory e-mail) onto the website, just to give you all a taste of what it looks like: http://lab.bootstrap.org/port/dialogmaps/2002/index.html The map provides a snapshot of the discussion on the list, with links to the actual discussion. You'll notice that the map also has purple numbers. I'd encourage you all to check the map regularly -- as I said earlier, I'll update once a day -- and use it to help focus discussion. You can comment on the map itself using the links to the appropriate purple numbers. -Eugene -- +=== Eugene Eric Kim ===== eekim@eekim.com ===== http://www.eekim.com/ ===+ | "Writer's block is a fancy term made up by whiners so they | +===== can have an excuse to drink alcohol." --Steve Martin ===========+
